On March 5, the National Research Oncology Center hosted an Open Doors Day, where 22 women received preventive examinations from leading oncologists-gynecologists and ultrasound.

This time the action was held in the framework of the World Day against the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV).
⠀⠀
During the event, precancerous diseases were detected in 5 women, background diseases in 9 women, and other pathologies of the female reproductive system were detected in 5 women. And only 3 out of 22 women aged 21 to 70 were healthy.
⠀⠀
All women received recommendations and were sent for more detailed diagnostics to the clinic.
⠀⠀
“The implementation of such events contributes not only to improving the availability of examinations of the population, but also to the early detection of oncopathologies, raising the awareness of the female population about the risk factors for the development of tumor diseases,” says oncologist, gynecologist, senior resident of the women's health sector Aida Fazylova.
⠀⠀
In Kazakhstan, more than 1672 (abs. number) cases of cervical cancer are detected annually. Cervical cancer in the structure of all malignant neoplasms in 2020 took the 5th place with a specific gravity of 5.63% (2019 - 5.52%), in women - stable 2nd place - 10% (9.9%).
⠀⠀
NROC specialists remind about the need for regular screening, which is a key means of cancer prevention and helps to prevent the disease, if cancer is detected at an early stage, even completely cured.
