Bone marrow transplantation has been carried out in Kazakhstan since 2010. The NSC is the only Center where all types of bone marrow transplantation are performed for the adult population. The indications for this procedure are various diseases such as acute and chronic leukemia, aplastic anemia, lymphoma, multiple myelomas, as well as malignant neoplasms of various organs and tissues.

From 2010 to 2020, 398 patients with AML were treated at the NSC. Their average age was 38.3 years. Every year in the Department of Oncohematology and BMT with Oncoreanimation, about 80 bone marrow transplants are performed and about 1000 cases of malignant diseases of the blood system are treated.

It should be noted that sometimes Kazakhstanis prefer treatment abroad. They spend a lot of money, although in our country cancer is treated free of charge within the framework of the guaranteed volume of medical care. Of course, you can understand them, they are driven by the desire to recover as soon as possible. Many foreign clinics, attracting patients, write that they give a guarantee for a favorable outcome of the transplantation procedure. At the same time, they are silent about the probable complications after it.
