Breast Cancer Awareness Day is approaching, celebrated around the world on October 21st. On this day, the specialists of the National Research Oncological Center carry out various actions to raise public awareness, prevention and early diagnosis of breast cancer.

The purpose of these events is to draw public attention to the growth of breast disease as a loss of women's health, to draw public attention to modern diagnostic methods and medical advances in the treatment of breast cancer, to enhance women's participation in preventive examinations.

In Kazakhstan, about 5 thousand new cases of breast cancer are detected annually. In the structure of oncopathology among the female population, this type of cancer takes the first place and accounts for over 27% of all malignant tumors in women.

According to the action plan of the NROC, it is planned to hold a series of lectures on the prevention and early diagnosis of breast cancer in the universities of Nur-Sultan, since the preservation and strengthening of the health of the young generation is one of the most important and difficult tasks of our time.

This year's information campaign was launched on September 30, students of Astana Medical University attended the first lecture. Samenova spoke in detail about risk factors, methods of prevention and early diagnosis, as well as treatment of breast cancer, urging not to neglect preventive examinations, including screening, in order to preserve your health.
